Getting Started

Calf Tracker Pro is designed to be intuitive and fast. Here are some tips:

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I log a calving?

Tap "Log Calving" on the home screen, select the dam, enter the date (defaults to today), and fill in calf details. The calf record is automatically created and linked to the dam.

Can I track twins?

Yes! When logging a calving, select "Twins" to record both calves at once.

How does pregnancy tracking work?

Log a preg check from the Herd & Records section, enter the days bred, and the app calculates the due date automatically. View "Preg List" to see all pregnant cows sorted by due date with color-coded urgency badges. You can also run batch preg checks to process multiple cows in one session.

What about withdrawal periods?

When logging treatments, enter the withdrawal days and the app tracks when each animal is clear. Withdrawal alerts appear on the home dashboard. If you have push notifications enabled, you'll also get a reminder when a withdrawal period is about to end.

Can I save treatment protocols I use often?

Yes! Treatment templates let you save commonly used protocols (product name, dosage, withdrawal days). When logging a treatment, pick a saved template to pre-fill the fields instantly.

Is my data backed up?

Yes. Your data is stored securely in our cloud database and syncs automatically. It's accessible from multiple devices and by other team members your farm administrator has granted access to. You can also export your records to CSV at any time.

Can multiple people access the same farm?

Yes. Your farm administrator can grant access to additional users. Everyone on the team can view and edit the same farm data. If you manage multiple farms, you can switch between them by tapping the farm banner on the home screen.

Does the app have a dark mode?

Yes. Toggle between Light, Dark, or System theme directly from the home screen. Dark mode is easier on the eyes in barns and low-light conditions.

Can I track which pasture my animals are in?

Yes. Create pastures with capacity limits in the Herd & Records section, then assign animals. Color-coded utilization bars show you when a pasture is getting full.

How do I see year-over-year trends?

Open Analytics from the Reports & Tools section. It compares your current year's performance against last year with trend arrows showing improvement or decline for calving counts, birth weights, treatments, and more.
